Drawing connections
6021 Shopfront Studio — Open Studio Community Engagement
6021 Shopfront functioned as a public-facing studio where I worked as a professional artist committed to creating meaningful connections through drawing and photography. Rooted in the foundational practices of drawing and painting, my approach emphasized accessibility and inclusion.
One core element of this project was the gifting of hand-drawn portraits to anyone who wanted a personal piece of art. This simple yet powerful gesture fostered a sense of value, visibility, and shared humanity—transforming the studio into a space of exchange, storytelling, and community-building.
